Have you ever thought about what it feels like to be alone in the dark? Cold. Lonely. Yet you don't really know how you ended up there. You're desperately gasping for air. The room gets smaller as time passes by. Hopeless as you are now, you try to search for the exit. Trying to look for that tiny beam of light, your hopes of getting out of this darkness. How could someone so innocent as you are ended up in this place? There you go again, you have no idea and you don't know where to run to anymore.
Entering the dark serves a purpose in our lives. It only shows that being alone in that cold, dark room will only make you realize your faults between all the confusion. It's not about how you're going to get out rather it's about how you will deal with the unfamiliar environment.
You might be asking yourself right now with this question, "What the hell does he mean that it's not about getting out but rather getting in?"
Human nature is all about survival, that's the first human instinct, we live to survive. I guess it's safe to say that we all have this common knowledge deep down within us. To get out is our main priority but have you ever paused for a while and thought for a moment, "Hey! Just how do I deal with the dark?" Well we are all thinking about it at the back of our mind but we just don't pay enough attention to that idea.
To overcome ones fear, one must face his/her fear.
It's much more easier said than done but it really works. Well atleast for me.
If you're going to deal with the dark then only then will you overcome it. It suddenly becomes a familiar territory to you. Picture this, you're walking down the road and you see a bunch of dogs along the path and the thing is you're afraid of dogs. There's no other way around but this way to get to your destination. If you decide to run straight into the path, the pack of hungry mutts will just make a dinner out of you.
The only way to pass through this obstacle is by walking slowly until you get to the other side. As they all say, haste makes waste. That's facing your fears. You face it calmly. Don't panic and don't get too impulsive. Getting too emotional over something is very immature but it also doesn't mean that you try to act numb.
The dark symbolizes so many things in life. It maybe death, despair, losing someone etc. It is inevitable to come face to face with darkness. Some point in your life you'll have to face it and it's better to be prepared as soon as possible rather than being caught of guard and in the end you have to suffer the grave losses that you could've prevented.
